Sapphire 7870XT (Tahiti LE) in crossfire with a Sapphire R9 270x

As the title says, can it be done? Does anyone have actually proof that they can be crossfired? I have a 7870xt and im wanting to upgrade, but there are no 7870xt's left on the internet..so the 270x looks like the closes thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You should be able to CFX those 2 cards, but the slower card will hold up the faster card.
