Hey guys my first post as i have been scouring the interwebs for a solution and im hoping you guys can help.
basically some foolish son of mine decided to upgrade his PC and got the R9 back Christmas on Amazon.

since then we have had random system restarts whether on the web or in a game. Restarts are totally random. when watching a film. browsing the web or just playing a game. within an hour or 8 hours.

i got rid of the old drivers using DDU n then installed 14.12

Now ive installed a new power supply 850w to see if this would help....so far not a single one of those common black screens as we had before on the old 650w but playing Wolfenstein earlier the pc did the same type of restart. sound stuttering or repeating the last few milliseconds before restarting.

checking the temp during the game we were at 60c to 62 so it wasnt over heating.

done a furmark test and it peaked at 71c for an hour
done a prime95 test for an hour all fine.

Another thing to try is to flash your BIOS to the later version. Sometimes newer cards don't work so well with older boards.
My R9 290 used to randomly beep 3 times on boot up (still powered on after), after I flash, no issue.

Although BSOD aren't normally firmware related...but could be.
