The bus width was a decision made with future designs in mind.
This card can come down in price and be very competitive, should nVidia come in with something close to it..
It does the job, the memory speeds sees to that

The Vapor-X is a custom PCB though which is a major benefit and has a much superior cooling solution while also using superior components (Caps, VRMs and chokes).

But the memory is still only 6GHz vs this ones 6.4GHz. Still the Vapor-X has had good OCing in reviews so its not a big deal.

This card reminds me of my old XFX HD 5750. Seems like it might be a really great bang for the buck now or an even better deal when the HD 8000 line comes out.

Depending on the price I'd be wanting to spend the extra $10-20 more for the 7850, if that is where this price comes in at.

The standard 1GB 7790 MSI card has already been down to $110 AR. The regular version of the 7790 should be priced around $120-125 and 2GB version around $145-150 with the 7770 needs to drop down to $100-105 and 7750 to $75-80(the 7750 and 7770 already frequently found at these prices after rebate).

Yeah $130-140 is a fair price for the 7790 (before any rebates), but if it get too much closer to $150-160 than the 7850 is a better buy, IMHO.

I feel really bad for AMD and the 7790. I was so excited about the 7790 and about to purchase 1 for my wifes computer, which is still using a 5770. What happened? Nvidia pulls the 650ti boost out and the nvidia 1GB model of the boost is the same price as the 7790 and the 2GB model is $20 more.
