Hey guys,

I have been researching for the past two years and finally am getting a new gpu. First i went with the Asus gtx 660ti but i heard all the problems that a gtx 660 ti has so i decided to get a gt 670 but it is so expensive in my country(India).

So ultimately i have decided to get a Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor x:
http://www.flipkart.com/sapphire-amd-ati-vapor-x-hd-7950-oc-boost-3-gb-gddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdh74z42djxeyu?pid=GRCDH6ZPF2RDGTBA

I have to keep my new card for 4 years so i wanted something that is future proof and this card seems to be it with its incredible overclocking potential and as the next gen consoles are amd based drivers will improve. The flipkart link has the price in rupees and it roughly translated to $460. Gtx 660ti is also $460 in my country while the gtx 670 is $560.

Any suggestions on a different card, or a card from a different manufacturer. I am not a amd or nvidia fanboy so if u can post something that justifies what u are saying then it would be greatly appreciated.

My current rig is::
Intel core 2 duo e7400
Sapphire HD 4770 artic cooling
intel dg41ty motherboard
4 gb ddr2 800mhz ram

I know the system will bottleneck and i will be updated my system soon. I want to buy a new gpu this month so please suggest me as quickly as u can. I am gonna overclock and i currently play games like battlefield 3, crysis 3, borderlands 2, far cry 3, assassins creed 3.

I mostly play crysis 3 and battlefield 3 but i do want to be future proof so please keep that in mind.

Thank you in advance

The 7950 Vapor-X is horrible, it's voltage locked because the VRM cooling is terrible and Sapphire knows it.

Instead the Sapphire Dual-x 7950 boost is FAR superior, it cools better, and the heatspreader for the VRM and memory chips is far better than the Vapor-x, cheaper too, 270 after rebate.

Yeah i just kept flipkart as a reference, i will buy the gpu from cost to cost, nehru place, can u recommend another retailer in india which will give me this card at a cheaper cost. Because i am not sure if this card is available at cost to cost.

I live in delhi so please give a retailer that is near the area or online. According to me this is the best card for the buck and that i nehru place will the cheapest place to buy this card.

I got my current rig built from them 4 years ago so yea its a good store.

Its not available on smcinternational so i will have to look up at cost to cost, it may not be available there, any other good retailers.

Can anyone give me some benchmarks or their own experience if they own any of the cards i mentioned, gtx 660ti is defiantly a no go as i play at 1080p and in future will update my moniter and the memory on the 660 ti sucks. I am a graphics junky so i want everything on ultra.

The thing is that i am 13 years old and i am getting a new gpu after 4 years, the hd 4770 was really slow plus it was dx 10.

The problem was that the sapphire hd 4770 artic cooling had an odd problem which everyone owning this particular model were facing, u cant overclock the memory above 863 mhz otherwise the system would crash. Therefore i didnt had an awesome experience with sapphire and amd. But i might have to use this card for the next 4 years i researched for 2 months and have the hd 7950 as an answer, the sapphire one particulary.

I need some people who own this card to tell me their experience or if someone knows something better at roughly the same price range. And if anyone on this forum lives in India do suggest me retailer from where i can get this card for cheap as gpus are really expensive in india.

Dont forget to check from rachit computers at wazirpur.. They are awesome..give great prices..totally reliable and great to buy computer stuff from them! A good genuine reliable store..

I tried to find this card, but coudnt find it, i wanted to play crysis 3 and i coudnt get a new card for the next 4 years if i got a $460 card so i went for a sapphire hd 7770 and will keep it for 1 year and then i will sell it and get nvidia maxwell or whatever amd comes out with. And as for sapphire, my hd 4770 was sapphire and i had a bad experience with it cause it bios problem didnt allow u to overclock the gddr ram higher than 863 mhz, and i cant overclock my hd 7770 to higher than 1050 mhz, that is just 50 mhz while other manufacturer cards are offering much higher clock speeds, so i will never buy a sapphire card again. And i have a bad impression of amd cause of sapphire and i have never used an nvidia gpu. Anyways thanks guys for the answers and i still had one question, if i want to buy an amd 8000 series gpu in the future an hd 8950 most probably, which manufacturer makes the best card. From the nvidia camp asus makes the best cards and msi but i am skeptical about who makes the best card for the amd camp.
