Sapphire nitro vs nitro+

Solution
I believe you should go with whichever you can find a better deal on. To my knowledge there hasn't been an official release date for Ryzen yet and even once it's release I expect it to sell out as most retailers or have an inflated price just like what happens to all new hardware on release.

That's not what he's asking about and that's not even true..... please provide an answer to the question and leave bias opinions out of it.

Now as for what's the difference? I'm not 100% sure on that but it could be something as simple as an updated version of the same card for example a V2. Since there doesn't seem to be a difference in clock speed and if there isn't a difference in price and even if it is if only slight the + would be a logical choice.

Yes and NO.
AMD Is currently being completly devasted in the gaming market because of the build quality and the actual performance of their products. Not to mention that most of the games tend to be more optimized and more suited to NVIDIA cards cause AMD is performing worse than NVIDIA cause the developers intentionally uses lesser performance on the AMD cards...
Being said this, the ones who purchases AMD this days are the ones who wanna budget or they are fan boys of any AMD products.

Source showing build quality on AMD is worse? Also, build quality is up to the AIB partners for non-reference cards, not AMD/Nvidia, and there are partners which produce both AMD and NVidia cards.

Source? Here's some benchmarks showing the 1060 beating the 480 by a whopping 2% at 1080p/DX11 which recent drivers. At 1440p/DX12/Vulkan, they either tie or 1060 loses.

But as said above, 1060 vs 480 is not what this thread is about. To the OP, I personally wouldn't recommend the 470 8GB, as from what I've seen you can usually get a 480 4GB for around the same price and the more powerful GPU makes a bigger difference than the extra VRAM, at least at 1080p.

I second this. I have the Nitro + rx 480 8gb and I do believe the '+' to be a refresh of the original nitro card. Out of the box it was great but after installing the Trixx software and setting up a fan curve it has been even better.

no it's not far better in anyway... 2% in average is not far better. 20€ more is not worth it for a 2% differece... the rx 480 has more vram and is cheaper, I think that the answer is pretty clear: rx 480 hands down. He was asking which rx 480 model he should buy anyway, if you are not going to answer his question then don't post an answer...

My mistake. Was looking at standard 480 regarding the ports. Even so. There are differences in rated speed. And the '+' is 10mm taller. Perhaps because of the cooler? In any event. Virtually identical cards. One has to be mindful of the part # when ordering.

That's not the best power supply, but it should be fine. I don't know if I'd do much overclocking on it though. RX 480s tend to undervolt pretty well, which reduces power consumption and will result in a cooler, quieter card.

Yeah, Asus Strix cards tend to be pretty good. As I said earlier, I'd probably prefer a 4gb 480 over an 8gb 470 for 1080p gaming, assuming they're around the same price, but it's up to you.

Might be a tad late now, but after looking around it seems the nitro+ has LEDs which can be changed whereas the regular nitro doesn't have them, other than that however I'm not too certain

Only 6months late but the guy above is correct, the “+” is £20 more, well was and has rgb.
Although even though this thread was made in February, you’ve probably bought the card and sold it for a profit. :)

Nvidia GPUs work better than AMD with dual-core + HT CPUs; according to Digital Foundry. So the GTX 1060 would have been a better choice with the G4560.
