Is it possible for this card to run far cry 5? My niece had a pc built and they put in older stuff and her graphics card keeps crashing, she can only afford under 200. I was looking and it should be 256 bit but this card is only 128, not sure if that will make a difference if she sets everything to normal or low. Thanks for any help!

Your going to want something a little more powerful for that, a 1050 ti would be the lowest you should look at a 550 is far weaker.

Video Card: Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Video Card ($199.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $199.99

There is also the used market, a 960 4gb is a little better than a 1050ti and runs under $140 as well as finding 970's for just under $200.

This is also a better option over a RX 550 cut down.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 FTW GAMING, 02G-P4-6157-RX, 2GB GDDR5, ACX 3.0 $130

Depending on your CPU a 1050 2gb @1080 ultra matched with a i3 8100 will stay above 32fps. I would consider that the lowest a 1050 ti nearly stays in the 50's.

The RX 550 and GT 1030 are really meant for less demanding games HOWEVER if you're willing to make some sacrifices you can run a game like Farcry 5 on it.

Specifically, you'll want to think about running at 720p instead of 1080p. You'll need to lower some settings, possibly to as low as they can go. Finally, you'll need to be happy with framerate in the 30-35fps range.

For a card like that, 2gb is enough. I wouldn't spend extra for 4gb unless it's a negligible amount. An RX 460 or 560, or GTX 1050, would be a significant step up in performance but the cost goes up too. I assume her CPU is good enough.

As far as performance it looks something like this.

1050 TI = 960 4GB "$125-$140 used"
960 2GB "$70 used Reddit Hardware Swap"
1050 2GB "$100 used"
RX 550 640 4GB
1030 GT
RX 550 512 2GB

@ $130 That 1050 2gb New I listed is the better value, the extra 2GB of VRAM you get with the RX 550 doesn't help it being a slower card.
