Sorry, I had the wrong assumption and i verified it and yes you are correct, 265 is far a better card.
It has 256bit, also more stream processors.

What is your budget? you can also maybe look at the new R7 370 which is even better than the R7 265 and it is DX 12 so you won't have issues of staying updated in the near future.
