[SOLVED] Sapphire rx 480

Sapphire rx 480 8 Gb

So i have noticed that one of the gpu fans starts spinning at 100% for no reason as I am browsing. the other fan is ok, is this a sign of a defective fan or a defective card?

Try installing msi afterburner or wattman and monitor or adjust your fans there. If it is a defective card it should still preform just as well if not better since it's always cooled. Fans have a long life span even if pushed to 100% all the time.

I already have msi and i have a costum fan profile but its still spins 100% for no reason, the card has two fans one behaves normally the other not and gpu is performing as it should.

Try installing wattman and disable MSI for the moment. I hear wattman is the dedicated software for that card series.

Hmm, I wasn't aware that card has asynchronous fans.

Have you tried removing the problematic fan and cleaning the contacts?

You an probably contact Sapphire customer service and they'll send you a new fan for free.
