Hi Toms,
Recently i bought a 144 hz gaming monitor, namely the LG 24GM79G gaming monitor. I noticed that my Rx 580 will boost the memory clock to the max frequency which is 2000 mhz when setting the monitor refresh rate at 144 hz. The clock goes idle at 300 mhz when going to 120 hz.
I am not the only one with this issue and i wonder whether this is a bug or not. Some say that high refresh rates require higher memory clocks. Anyone else with similar symptoms?
I can live with this or just set 144 hz only when gaming but i do wonder why 24 hz more (120 vs 144) would require a boost for memory clocks.
