Sapphire TOXIC 3GB R9 280X vs ZOTAC GTX 780 3GB AMP! Edition

Don't really know what else to say, but I just want to know what card would be better!

I would be playing at 1920 x 1080

Games likely to be played are:

  Battlefield 4
  DayZ
  Watch Dogs
  Assassin's Creed IV
  GTA V

the Zotac 780 AMP! will be faster than the toxic 280X. The 280x has more of a $/performance value due to it being the most heavily factory overclocked 280x. Both will do what you want stated above, depends on what FPS line you want to stay at and what you are willing to pay

Hmm, well I'm wanting to hit about 80-90+ (so I can get ATLEAST 60+ while recording)

The GTX 780 is faster than the 280X (which is equivalent to a 770). But the 280X should be fine for 1080p, so you should be able to save some money there.

The GTX 780 will run a lot better in all of those games. At least a couple of your games (Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed 4) are part of Nvidia's partnership with Ubisoft, so those will feature graphics settings (TXAA, HBAO+) exclusive to Nvidia cards. Assassin's Creed 4 is one of three games you get free with the GTX 780.

r9 280x toxic edtion is quite powerful but a gtx 780 amp! is better cause it is overclocked but a normal 780 would lose i think

Gtx 780 because not only is significantly faster than the 280x, watch dogs, Assassins creed and gta 5 are titles optimized for Nvidia.

According to Toms Hardware the gtx 780 will give you a 10 fps gain over the 280x. The gtx 780 is slightly over 100 dollars more however in my opinion a much better option. Litecoin and other ALT coins has inflated the price of Radeon cards by around 25%.
