SATA 0 or1/2/3/

Ok dumb question but here goes, 😗 if you only have 1 SATA hard drive, it should normaly be connected to MB SATA terminal 0, correct?

I'am asking this Q because there are other SATA terminals eg. No's 1,2,3,4 etc.

However, if you connected the SATA hard drive to terminal eg. No 2, and installed the OS to the drive, the PC would still operate OK, correct?

It shouldnt matter, any sata port will work fine.

Usually the mobo manual tells you which is 1st, 2nd, etc. The place it makes a difference is in the BIOS, e.g., it might show your boot drive a 2 or 3 rather than one and could default to the wrong drive for boot up, which can always be set correctly in the BIOS. Will also affect drive letters but again as long as you which drive is which doesn't matterr. As long as you know which drive is which, not really a big issue

its a matter of personal preference. i have my raptor connected to sata 1 and my 300gb maxtor to sata 0. i just had to change the boot drive in the bios.
