hi

MY BOARD IS 945p-s3 gigabyte and i have a WD 160GB (SATA 2) HD.
EVEREST + SANDRA + HD TUNE TELLS ME THAT MY HARD DRIVE RUNS AT UDMA 5 (ATA 100).

HOW CAN I FIX IT TO BE ATA 300(SATA 2)

THANKS

its likely a BIOS setting, but regardless of the speed its running at, the HDD still would be unable to max out the bandwidth of ATA100, so your overall max sustained transfer speeds are the same, the only difference would be the burst transfer speeds, and at that the difference would be negilble

Firstly, its more than likely just not reporting as anything higher, HDtune reports UDMA5 (ATA/ATAPI-6) on my SATA disks too.

Secondly, there would be no performance difference even if it was running at UDMA 5 speeds. Even a Raptor cant run at 100MB/s sustained.

Thirdly, posting in all caps is a sure way to get people to not want to help you...
