Hey guys! I have two simple questions, and hope you can help me here:

Would a Sata 2 SSD be faster than a Sata 2 5400 rpm HDD 2.5" form factor? If yes, how much faster?

Also would a USB drive 3.0 be faster than Sata 2 5400rpm HDD 2.5" form factor? If yes, how much faster?

This is the HDD I have: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Seagate-ST1000LM024-1TB-HN-M101MBB-SATA-2-5-Laptop-Notebook-Hard-drive-/251173401051

I would like to know If there is a way that I can get about 50gb to play a game or two, because my HDD causes stuttering in some games. So I'm trying to get some decent external (preferably) or internal space, that is faster than the HDD i currently have.

What options do I have?
USB drive 3.0?
Sata 2 SSD?
Replace the disk for a better one?

Thank you!

Okay so the question that you are asking is very vague. An ssd will almost always be faster than an hdd. The read write speeds are what you really need to look at for hdds and ssds. As per your question about usb 3, i once again don't know which hdd you are talking about so I can't give you an answer. If you can give me the exact models I can answer it for you though. Hope this is helpful!!!

Hello, thanks for answering.
This is the model of the HDD I have right now: ST1000LM024 1TB HN-M101MBB

If I get a Sata 2 7200rpm HDD 2.5" will it be faster than the one I currently have?
