Sata 3 cards installed on sata 2 mobos

I am getting conflicting info regarding this issue. I bought a Kingston SSD without thinking of the sata ports. This drive is sata 3 while my mobo has sata 2 (Rampage Formula).

I have gotten different answers as to the speeds this would get.
Would an SSD see it's proper speeds if connected to a sata 3 card?

It will run at SATA II speeds. Nothing conflicting about that.

You will still see a huge increase in performance if you are upgrading a HDD to SSD, even if it is running on the SATA 2 speeds. And as clutchc already mentioned, it will work perfectly well, just at slightly slower speeds than if it was SATA 3.
