Sata 3 on sata 1

I have recently replaced sata 1 hdd with sata 3 hdd my motherboard is working with sata 1.
When i bought new hdd sata 3 i have realised that there is no place for screws to tie up that hdd on case because sata 3 is thiner than sata 1 and holes for screws on hdd cant reach holes on case.
So what to do?
Should i make i new holes on my case or to curve those rails that are holding hdds?
Please help!!

There's no physical difference between different generations of HDDs. Screwholes are all in the same place.

Did you put the drive in the PC the other way around?

Did you purchase a 2.5 inch laptop drive? If that is the case, you will need to purchase an adapter to make it fit within the drive cage.

No no it is 3,5 in the same place previous hdd was.
They are in the same place but new hdd is thiner than the old one so holes cant reach holes on case.
I dont know why but i have feeling that someone screwed me ) btw i paid for hdd 45 bucks.

Maybe there is diffrent dimensions depending on manufacuters or specifications im not smart i dont know.

There aren't; they're a standard size. Absolutely zero difference in mounting locations, outer dimensions, or connector locations.
