Hi ALL,

I have recently just brought a Seagate SATA 6Gb/s HDD:
=====================
Model No. ST2000DM001BOX
7200rpm, 64MB
SATA 6Gb/s, NCQ
=====================

It is being recognized by the system and the HDD name show up in the "Devise Manager".
However, when I go to "My Computer", it is just NOT THERE ... 😱 ?

I know it is a SATA 6Gb/s HDD and I already it plug-into the SATA 6.0 (blue) port.
How come it is being recognized in Window but can't show up in "My Computer" ?

The first the time I plug-in this SATA 6G HDD, Window install the driver automatically
and said it is "Ready to Use"

I already tried to set the BIOS SATA configuration as:
[IDE Mode]
[AHCI Mode]
[RAID Mode]

only IDE mode can I start Window normally, other 2 modes will just show up a
screen asking to start Window in [Safe Mode] / [Start as Normal], either way can
work and just keep pumping the same screen again and again...

I also try to use a External HDD Stock Station and use eSATA to connect this HDD,
however, it is not even recognized by the system...

I really need you expert help, many many thanks.

JOEY

Sounds like the drive just needs to be initialized and formatted.

Right-click My Computer>Manage>Storage>Disk Manager.
In the bottom half of this console you should see your drive with a black bar amongst drives with blue bars.
Right click on this drive, select "Initialize Disk". Then you can right click on the drive image and select "Create simple volume".
That last action will start a wizard which you should easily be able to follow.

Hope this helps
