Sata cable confusion

I have trouble with the many sata ports on my motherboard. I am building a new desktop with an ssd, but i don't know which port to plug my sata cabel into.

Motherboard: Asus z97- AR
SSD: Samsung 850 pro

The sata ports are divided in categories in the manual of A, B and C and they are called:

A
SATA6G_5
SATA6G_6

B
SATA6G_1
SATA6G_2

C
SATA6G_3
SATA6G_4

Also but less important my case has an external HDD receiver with a sata cable inside the case, which data port for that one also?

Just for consistency, connect your boot drive to the lowest number SATA III port. In this case, "SATA6G_1"

And for this, "an external HDD receiver with a sata cable inside the case", I think we need more info on what that actually is.

Since you are not using RAID you can plug them into whichever port you want, there is no right or wrong port for your situation.

Make sure to set your motherboard in bios to AHCI mode for the sata type (consult manual for where this setting is).
