So about 2 years ago I bought a pre-built computer. Over the 2 years i have been slowly replacing each part, but i have a question regarding the Motherboard and an SSD i am going to buy.

My question is, do i need to buy an additional SATA cable for the motherboard, considering it was prebuild? i understand that when you buy a motherboard it usually comes with a few sata cables, but since it was already build, i dont know it has them seeing as how ive never checked.

SATA Cables are all identical weather it be SATA 1, 2 or 3, they are electrically the same. with the acception of the "clippy' and "non-clippy" thats all preferance, just make sure you have one.

Interesting I had no idea. Good to know.

So my Mobo had a sata cable going into the optical drive but since i never use it i just moved the cable to the SSD, so... It works!
