Discussion Sata cable works on IDE but not in AHCI

Hello All,

I am sure that the problem is in the SATA cable.
But why W10 works when I configure the MB to IDE and not works with MB in AHCI.
AHCI mode (or W10) has some kind of error detection that IDE mode not? Thank you.

You can't just randomly switch back and forth between IDE and AHCI.

Changing the BIOS setting to enable AHCI requires a full reinstall of Windows.

If you want to switch from ide>ahci try this.

The OS was installed in ahci. Then the sata cable, that I am sure has a problem because with other cable all is fine, stop working. But when I switched the MB to IDE the bad cable works fine. Maybe this it is relationed with different bandwidth and frequency or error detection?
