I'm pretty new to the whole SSD thing, just upgrading after about 4 years of my trusty 750gb WD Blue. Got a Samsung 850 Evo. The recommended sata cable for it says 6GB/S, but all I could find at my local radioshack was a 3gb/s one (Pink color, flat, neither end is an L shaped joint). Will this be fine? Should I take the time to order a proper one off amazon? Thanks.

That 3g one will be fine. I don't like the flat ones too much unless they have a lock on them, but since it won't be moved much you will be fine. Plenty of other places should sell SATA cables, there are probably local PC shops around, Best Buy should have some, although all the store prices will be several 100% higher than those online. Cables and such have a huge markup in retail stores, online you can find a larger selection at much less cost if you can wait 3 days to get it.

Thanks man! I live in a pretty rural area and I was lucky enough to find it at our dying radioshack. it was 10$ for a cord thats like 1$ online :/
didn't wanna wait like 2 weeks for shipping or pay 20$ shipping on a 2$ cord to match the shipping on the actual ssd. Oh well. Thanks again!.
