Question SATA cables have a strong plastic/rubber smell, should I be concerned ?

Earlier today, I noticed my SATA cable had a plastic/rubber odor coming off of it. Wasn't sure if it's normal, so I checked the cables and they don't smell like anything, except the spare SATA cable that I haven't used. They both have the smell. Is this normal? Been using it for about a month and a half now

Edit: And to be clear, I'm talking about the end that plugs into the PSU. It's an RM750x if that helps.

What specifically is the SATA cable connecting to the PSU?

Are you using only the cables that came with the PSU?

Any signs or indications that the cable is getting hot?

Not uncommon for any electronic components (and many other products) to have odors when first used.

Eventually those odors (likely from the applicable manufacturing processes) will dissipate.

Just keep an eye on the cable and connector.

At the first signs of melting, discoloration, fumes/smoke shut down and remove the cable.

Cable may be defective, fake, substandard, etc....

Just my thoughts on the matter.

When the pc is running is the cable/plug hot to the touch?

The cables are the ones that came with it, and like I mentioned the spare one that comes with it has the same smell unplugged and unused. It's a good quality PSU too (rm750x)

Checked to be sure, and I didn't see any melting or weird marks on it. It doesn't smell like burning, just a strong plastic/rubber smell
