SATA Cables that came with the PSU are not 1 for 1, is this normal?

Once I went for the cables named "SATA" the cables seemed to be bigger and longer than I imagined. I untangled the string holding it and let it loose. It had 3 Sata Entries per cable, is this normal and does it affect my build if I dont use 2 of the entries? (Btw, first time builder here, would really appreciate some help!)

Yes that is normal, and no it does not affect anything if you do not use all of them.
