SATA cables with and without clips

Hi,

I'm getting a new PC build and I noticed that the MOBO only comes with 2 SATA cables but I'll need 3 (for a SDD, a HDD and one for a ODD).

I have some really old SATA cables at home (I've read that cable won't affect the speed but I plan on mounting the old one on the ODD anyway).

The question is, if the new cables are the ones with clips and my old one is without those metal clips that make it stay in place - will it work?

Are drives and MOBO compatible with both types of SATA cable (clips and no clips), do they both fit in the same plug holes?

Thank you! :)

Solution
Both types of SATA cables, with clips and without clips, are completely interchangeable - they will work! I have a stash of SATA cables and I use they at random. All SATA cables will fit in all SATA ports.
