The bios may not support accessing the drive as anything other than IDE. If it does support it however, it is probably tucked away in an advanced setting in the bios.
I'm not sure what you mean when you're asking about the sata configuration. What are you trying to accomplish, or what specific settings are you looking to change?

You would do that from within the bios of the laptop, but if you are using the hard drive that came with your laptop, I'd recommend sticking with whatever settings the manufacturer chose.

I still want to configure it as it is suggssted as a remedy to fix another issue with loading a .sys file. I cant seem to find the option in my laptop's bios. Any suggestions ?
