Has anybody ever experienced problems with the SATA connectors? I keep experiencing connection problems (ie drive not recognized or suddenly removed from array). I had problems with both a Highpoint RocketRAID 1640 and a Promise Fastrak S150 SX4 connecting Seagate Baracuda V 160GB @7200, using various cables.

I find the connection to be quite loose, the cable can move horizontally a lot. And since the cables are usually not so flexible, a high force can be applied to the connectors, resulting in an angle as much as 15° between the cable and the natural axis of the male connector. Perhaps this is OK, but it doesn't inspire confidence...

I haven't had any problems with it. They do require a bit of force to get them on all the way, maybe you only have them on halfway?

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.

I have had no problems as well.

Approximently 24 SATA hard drives running and never an issue.

I will side with silverpig.

Check to make sure that the cables are indeed completely pushed in all of the way.
