Hey guys,

I picked up this controller to run 8 additional drives in my machine. Right now it is only showing 4 of the 8 drives. I've double and triple checked the connectors inside the machine and can't quite figure it out. I'm not sure what additional information is important so here are my system specs. Please ask if you need additional.

EVGA SR-2
Dual Xeon x5680
GTX Nvidia 660
48GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 64 Bit Professional

Thanks,
Kevin

What is only showing 4/8 drives? BIOS? Windows?

Head to the controller manufacturer's website and ensure you have the latest drivers - that may impact the recognition of drives.

Open 'Disk Management' - how many of the drives are displayed there?

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies,

In disk management I am seeing 4 of the drives. I confirmed that I do have the latest driver installed as well. I also moved the cables around just to see if it did anything different and got the same result.

Thanks for additional support,
Kevin

Did the same 4 drives show up or drives connected to the same 4 ports?

Good thought,
Yes it seems to be port related. The first 4 ports work regardless of which drive I plug in.

How do I activate the other 4?

Thanks,
Kevin

I uninstalled and deleted all instances of the driver on the machine then went a head with a reinstall. Everything seems to be working now. Still not sure what the issue is but resolved for now.

Thanks,
Kevin
