SATA converter for DVD drive in laptops?

Greetings all,

I saw this as an option for my Dell Inspiron 2200 , a SATA HDD Hard Drive Caddy Bay Module Tray Adapter - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1PU0FR1089

Does anyone have experience with these? Do they work well?

They usually work just fine but make sure you check reviews. Some laptops wont actually run a HDD from the DVD drive slot.

popatim, thanks for the answer. One more quick one. Is there any way to use these adapters so that the drive would be bootable?

yes often the latops bios has a boot order selection where you can make it the first boot device, oterhtimes you will need to select the boot device at startup (often its pressing f11 or f12) see the bottom of your screen during your boot up for a message saying pressXX for boot options (or similar)
At worst case, you swap the new caddy drive for the old internal drive (ie - old drive is now in the caddy)
