SATA data cable won't lock into Samsung EVO 850

I have transferred my SSD back and forth a few times to different machines and notice now that the data cable will not lock into place anymore and will come out with very little force. I believe that the little tab inside has broken off. What are my options to keep it locked. I wish it was like the power cable in that it stays in without any kind of locking mechanism. Thanks.

Most SATA cables don't have locks. It wont stay in on its own? Im sure you dont need the lock if it will stay fully seated to the SSD. If you broke the lock off and it wont stay in not much you can do besides replace the cable.

You can get sata cables with a clip to make the connection more secure.

All of my data cables have the locks. They have the little tabs that you push to pull them out. They lock into my MOBO and I hear a little click. You then have to press the tab to pull them out. On my SSD that is no longer the case. I can insert the cable but it doesn't click or lock anymore. I guess the piece on the drive wore out.

Does it fully seat to the SSD? It does not need to lock if its making full contact.

Yes. It seats fully. It is just not firmly attached like the power cable. It's sort of loose.
