SATA drive to IDE port converter

Does anyone know of a converter which will allow a SATA drive to be connected to an IDE port on the motherboard? I have found several converters which do the opposite of this, but none which allow a SATA drive to an IDE port. Thanks for your help.

Why bother? Just get a SATA PCI board and free up more IDE ports. It will cost you the same price.

Thanks folken, that looks like exactly what I need.

Also the reason I need it and NOT a SATA controller card is the computer already has 6 SATA ports and 2 IDE ports (ABIT IC7MAX3 MB), I need to GHOST my RAID array to a single disk, but unfortunaly GHOST doesn't recognize a single disk on the SATA ports, but it can recognize a disk on the IDE port. Unfortunetly I don't have an IDE disk big enough to GHOST my disk, but I do have a SATA one, thus I need a SATA disk to IDE converter

Cheaper to buy the converter than a big old IDE disk as I only need it for a temporary GHOSTing.

Ghost will see an sata disk that is on a south bridge controlled sata controller. If the disk shows up in the bios u know it is on the south bridge, then ghost will see it.
That adaptor is a good cheat though

Actually ghost SHOULD BE FINE with seeing a single SATA drive as long as that drive is on the RIGHT SATA CONNECTION!

The ON-CHIPSET (Intel) controller lets most OS's see any SATA drive as an IDE drive, so long as you have RAID disabled for the ON-CHIPSET (Intel) controller. You have 6 ports, but only 2 of them are on the chipset.

Oh believe me I have tried I would love to get around not getting the adaptor but so far everything I have tried doesnt work. I can't disable the RAID on the Intel controller because that is where my RAID and OS live.

When I hook my other drive up to SATA3-6 it doesn't show up in BIOS but it does show up in Windows, I have tried using GHOST9 and doing a disk clone from windows, the clone works but when I try to boot it, it comes up with an error like can't find hdl.dll or NTR.dll or something like that, I think the reason this may not be working is because I have RAID IAA installed and can't uninstall it (it won't let you). So my next thing to try was putting the drive on an IDE port and GHOSTing it from the boot disk.

If anyone has any other recommendations I am all ears Also thanks for the help

Suggestions? You know how when you set up Windows you see that little message "Press F6 to install 3rd party RAID/SCSI drivers"? Well, if you were using PowerQuest DriveImage, you'd see the same prompt. You'd follow it in the same manner, and load the drivers from a floppy for your third-party SATA controller in the same way. That would allow DriveImage to see the drives on that controller, and you'd be able to copy the partition.
