SATA drivers

Hi,

I have a HP laptop with SATA disk. While installing win-xp it does not detect HDD. Please let me know where to get SATA drivers .

Are you using the restore CDs?

Otherwise since XP does not include SATA drivers there are two way you can try.

A) Download the drivers from HP and store them on a USB flash drive or floppy.

Boot of the windows CD and when asked for controller drives hit F2 or F6 (not sure been awhile) and follow the instructions.

B) If this does not work you will have to slipstream the driver into XP CD
