Hello all...

I recently replaced my gigabyte mobo with a MSI mobo. The four pin atx connector on the gigabyte sort of melted... possibly due to overclocking... but that's besides the point. Anyway... after reinstalling windows with the new MSI mobo i've found that my two sata drives show up in the system tray as removable drives. I cannot remove them because windows says the drives are always in use but the little icon in the corner (like the one you get when you insert a flash drive) is always there.

Have checked the bios and do-not see any settings that may cause this...

Any ideas?

Thanx.

I had this problem too with my RAID disks and I forget how I fixed it. There's a way to do it though. A google search might be in order here. You may also want to check the System Manager and make sure the drives aren't set as "removable". They usually aren't, but you never know 😉
