sata hard drive not present

in my dell optiplex 755 the Bios doesn't recognize the hard drive it shows onboard sata hard drive (not present)

Nikorr, you're on the right track, but if he has the power cable in and not the data cable it will be warm to the touch but not work. Hdds need power AND data cables to work.

Perhaps "If u touch the drive, is it warm and do u feel any buzzing inside?"
