Sata HDD sometimes not being detected

Good day everyone,

I've been having an issue with my PC (desktop of course).

When I turn it on, it goes directly to BIOS with no HDD detected. My WD Blue is not being detected even if I turn it off and back on.

Weird thing is, once I reseat any part that has to do with my HDD (SATA CABLE regardless which end, SATA power cable from PSU *re inserting it from my HDD), then turn my PC on, then it works fine and it boots all right. It's weird since I could not close my PC case as I have to repeat the process everytime I have to turn on and use my PC.

Could somebody advise please? Thank in advance!

P.S. ---

1. My HDD is Brand New
2. Already tried different SATA Cables
3. Used every single SATA port on my MoBo slot 1 to 4
4. I already tried resetting the BIOS
5. Already done troubleshooting (removing single component at a time).
6. MoBo is ASUS A68HM-K less than a year.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much GUYS!!

Serah,

You said you've tried different cables, but I wonder if the port on the drive itself is the culprit? What about the power cable? Have you tried changing that one yet? If it's not a physical issue, only other thing I could suggest is look for a BIOS update.

Thank you for the reply. I will try to swap my power cable to another one. What's bugging me is that, it always work in the first try. Like, once I reseat any part of it, 100% that my HDD would be detected in the next boot.
