I was running Vista media edition on my pc but I was getting sick with its problems so I downgraged to XP PRO. I also changed the hardware to do this. the vista set-up was
Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
500Gb serial ATA hard drive with 16MB buffer, in SATA port 1 & Lightscribe super format 18x dual layer DVD writer, in SATA port 3
I purchased 2 Western Digital caviar 250Gb 16MB 7200 SATA hard drives. I unplugged the 500Gb hd & dvd writer & put the 2 new drives into SATA ports 1 & 3. I then installed XP. Everything ok untill I decided to buy 2 new Sata cables to use with the 500gb hd & dvd writer in ports 2 & 4. Both are not recognized. I have looked at the bios settings & both are set to auto. Please help?
