This is my DVD drive which I assume is SATA II, correct?: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/sony-ddu1681s-0b-18x-dvd-rom-smart-x-sata-black-oem
And this HDD is SATA III since its transfer is 6 Gb/s, right?: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004HBAGSO/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
So here's my main question: my motherboard (ASRock Z77 Extreme4) came with SATA III cables and has both SATA II and SATA III connectors. To get the best speed from my HDD I should plug it into the III connector, but what about my SATA II DVD drive with SATA III cables? Does it matter, what would you recommend?
Thanks for the help.
