This is a very basic question, but I just want to make sure I don't mess up.

I have a PC I've been working on for some time. I finally got around to making some corrections to it, (had to remove motherboard to correct issues with I/o shield).

On the Antec NE 550 Gold semi modular PSU it has Molex/SATA and brackets around (3) 6 pin ports, and 1 single pci-e.

I want to make sure that the Molex/SATA 6 pin ports are all the same. I have the SSD HD plugged into the port that has SATA directly below it, and the other cable to the DVD plugged into one of the others, (of course not the pci-e). I realize that both cables that came with the PSU have both SATA and Molex connections so I'm quite certain it's good to go, but with modular PSU's I get a bit nervous due to a past bad experience.

Thanks

Is this your unit,
specs: https://www.antec.com/product/power/neo-eco-modular-550-v2

If so, PCI-E and SATA/MOLEX ports are color coded. Also, both PCI-E ports on PSU are same. Same goes for all 4x SATA/MOLEX ports as well, whereby it doesn't matter into which ports you plug your cables in. Only minor eyecandy issue, depending which ports you plug the cables in.

For example, here's image of my PSU and it's cable connections;

With my PSU, i've connected the cables in such a way, that empty ports aren't seen. IMO, this gives better/cleaner image of my PSU. Though, in reality, i have many ports on PSU still free, since i don't have that much hardware powered.
Oh, the PSU is actually upside down in the PC, compared to the above image.

Btw, the PSU i have is Seasonic PRIME 650 80+ Titanium [SSR-650TD]. It powers my Skylake build (full specs with more pics in my sig).

I get a bit nervous due to a past bad experience.
Always use the cables that come with PSU. Never switch cables between PSUs, since pinout on PSU's side can be different.

Okay, thank you very much. The PSU in the current rig I'm working on is the Antec NE550 Gold, but doesn't have color coded plug-ins.

I actually have the exact Seasonic Prime Ultra titanium PSU that you have. I have not connected a graphics card to it yet, but guessing that all (4) 8 pin connections on the PSU are the same as well as all (4) 6 pin. I just wanted to make sure.

Magnificent Skylake build by the way. Wow!!!

Thanks again!!!

Care to link it's official specs then? Since looked around some more and did find NE550 ZEN, but that unit is fully wired.

PRIME Ultra is SSR-650TR. What i have, is SSR-650TD (predecessor of Ultra). Though, i do have PRIME Ultra powering my missus'es PC (Haswell). :sol:

Yes, they all are same. Doesn't matter which PCI-E/EPS or SATA/MOLEX port you use on PSU.

Magnificent Skylake build by the way. Wow!!!
Thanks. That's the result of dedication and love. :) Btw, my two other builds have the similar theme going on. Specs and pics in my sig.
