I just built my first pc using a gigabyte GA-B250-HD3P mother board. Everything was going fine until I tried to download windows to my hard drive from an 8gb flash drive. No hard drive was detected in the setup or in the bios. I made sure all the cables were connected. Any help?

As USAFRet said: If the BIOS can't detect the drive, it's probably a dead one or it's not connected properly.
Check your SATA power, sata cable and if that doesn't work you can try using a different sata port on your motherboard.
The odds of a faulty sata cable are slim, but I would still check that as well.

If all of that still does not solve your problem it's probably your drive and you should return it.

If it is not seen i the BIOS, either it is not connected properly, or it is a dead drive.

How did you create this USB install?
Can you show us pictures of this thing not working?
