If i have a motherboard with only sata ports at 6Gb/s, do i have to use an hdd with same speed or can i go with 3Gb/s. Is there any advantage if i use 6Gb/s instead of 3Gb/s. Thanks 😛🙁
The newer SATA standard is the faster speed. However, they are all backwards compatible so you can use a faster SATA drive in a slower port, or vice versa.
I have pasted a link to the various SATA standards as a reference for you.
