I've bought a new Samsung evo 870 SSD but now it seems I only have 2 sata ports working, the ssd and cable is not the issue, I swapped the cable on the same port and it get recognized, any other slot doesn't appear to work..

I have an asus prime Z370-A

Would swapping slot cause any issues? My OS is installed on it

look at the manual and see which port is use and use the other available port
My nvme is in the m.2_1 socket 3 slot

I can move it to m.2_2 socket 3

Picture of my motherboard

My manual states
M.2_1 socket supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA mode M Key design and type 2242 /
2260 / 2280 PCIe and SATA storage devices.
• M.2_2 socket supports PCIe 3.0 x4 M Key design and type 2242 / 2260 / 2280 PCIe
storage devices.
• These sockets support IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology).
