I’m installing a SSD on my dad’s computer (Packard Bell iXtreme M5850). But 4 of the the SATA ports are blocked. Are these covers that can be removed? Or are these non-functional dummy ports? If they are covers, how do I remove them? They feel very rigid and I'm afraid to break something if they aren't removable.

Thanks so much!

They look like covers, as said above, you can use something sharp to carefully pry them out. If you don't exert too much pressure your won't break anything.

You can try carefully lifting them a little bit on each side and then alternate between the sides until they're loose enough to be removed.
