My motherboard is an MSI z97s SLI Krait Edition, and for some reason it is saying that all SATA ports are not present. I just flashed the newest BIOS to no avail. No disk drive works, and I need it to boot from my windows disc. I need advice.

Solution
Go through the BIOS settings, and see if there's an option to enable / disable the SATA ports.

I'm pretty sure some mobos have this option inc mine (But mines not the same as yours)

Make sure SATA mode isnt disabled

Reset the settings in the BIOS. Then enable UEFI, secureboot and AHCI..first.

If you're going to install 64 bit Windows.

Save settings. Reboot then go back into it. Does it appear?

What SATA port did you connect it to? And dont forget to connect power to it

It detects, but keeps asking for a boot media, although the drive has the windows disc. It doesn't sound like the drive is spinning, and I have already tried different drives. Also cannot open the tray in the drive. The light is on.

It's a hard drive from my old PC, so yes it still has everything on it, I was planning on nuking it, but I can't without the disk drive working.
