As the title says, are they supposed to be really stiff in place or are they supposed to be able to slightly tilt.

Since my SATA ports seem to tilt easily. And if it isn't supposed to move at all, then I'm assuming it's the cause of all my crash problems.

Motherboard: asrock fm2a68m-dg3+

Solution
That hardly sounds like normal behavior.

If the SATA connections on the board themselves are flexing, causing a bad connection, errors don't necessarily have to occur as soon as the bad connection happens but can manifest once the machine tries to use the connection which is no longer reliable.

Hey there, @ModernDarpa!

I'd totally second @bigpinkdragon286 opinion on this. I believe it's not save to use this mobo, especially if there's something wrong with the SATA ports. Unfortunately, this kind of failure could affect your whole system's performance over time. My recommendation is to check the warranty on your motherboard through the manufacturer's customer support. If it's still covered, I'd advise you to RMA it and get a replacement from them. Better be safe than sorry, right? Make sure you also backup your data from the drives connected to the mobo somewhere off-site (externally) to avoid any potential data loss headaches.

Good luck!
