Hey guys,
recently, after a long time of suffering on both ends, my R9 390 died on me, so now I'm planning to upgrade to a Gigabyte 5700 XT Gaming OC. The issue being, that on my Mobo, the SATA ports are too damn high, the GPU is too damn long and the pci/e on the left is blocked by other stuff. So I will will only be able to use the slot on the right - where I barely managed to get the 390 to completely click into the slot, thanks to the USB 3 cable sitting around there. Both cards are about the same length,
Now my questions are:
Specs:
Seasonic G-Series 650W Gold
Msi z97 gaming 5
i7 4790k
2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3
Sapphire R9 390 Nitro (R.I.P.)
Samsung Evo 860 1TB
NZXT Big Tower
Any help would be appreciated

- Is there a way to extend the pci/e lane, as to have my GPU higher up, so I can be sure that there won't be any problems?
- In the case the new GPU is not completely clicking into the slot by a very small margin, but screwed into the case nontheless, what could be the consequences?
