SATA ports won't work in AHCI mode

Hello.
I recently got new Intel SSD series 330 60gb in addition to my standard 1tb Samsung HDD. So I set RAID mode from IDE to AHCI in BIOS (mobo MSI X85 pro-e). Now some of SATA ports (port 3 and 5) don't recognize my HDD or CD/DVD being connected but I still can use them in windows while other ports display them normally in BIOS. Also when I switch back to IDE mode, ports 3 and 5 display hardware in BIOS.

Solution
setting the sata ports to AHCI from IDE requires that you load a driver in windows for it to see those drives.

If you are trying to boot your existing windows but with AHCI enable you first need to boot up in IDE mode and change the driver MS has a quick tool to do that. Info and 'Fix It" button here:

I'm not sure what you're trying to do or how to help you further.
Lastly I assume you meant the x58 motherbd.

Thanks for your reply. Yes i meant x58.
Windows boots fine in AHCI mode and it was installed so, all drives work and are displayed, drives plugged to mentioned ports are only not displayed in BIOS when it's set to AHCI. I noticed that after switching from IDE to AHCI and back, disabling IDE busmaster, restarting pc, BIOS recognized everything even in AHCI. Should I run that fix anyway by booting windows in IDE?
