I want to have an extension off my cable (which powers two hard drives, using 1st and 3rd connection on the cord) from the 2nd connection (in between) to branch off to another extension to power a PCIe card. Is it ok to connect them like a tree like this? (some extensions branching in different ways from the same string, not at the end of the strings, etc.)

Some help would be greatly appreciated! :p

That should be fine.

But if you still have a power supply that uses Molex connectors hanging around, that's a good use for them.

What is this PCIe card you're trying to run from a SATA power cable? If it's a video card the answer is no.
