I've got two 120GB WD SATA drives that I'm putting in a RAID set up for a file server. They have connectors for serial and traditional power hookups. Is there any advantage to using one power standard versus the other? Or is it just pick one, results are the same?

Thanks,

If you want to use the hot-swapability then you have to use the new SATA power. If not, then it makes no difference.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.

I think drives using the SATA connector only use the fraction of the power that normal drives do, though this could be the same for a SATA drive running on the old connector

I have viewed this site on my Am386DX-40! it works!!
