Hi, I am planning to add another HDD to my pc, but as I'm seeing, There is only one connector powering my HDD, so If I buy an extender or a sata to two sata connector, Will i be able to connect two hard disks with one cable coming from the PSU? Thanks

Solution
Yes. The PSU will be supplying enough power on this connection for two hard disks. Or you could use a Molex to SATA convertor if you have a free Molex connector on your PSU.

I'm sure you know, but just to emphasize: you need two SATA data connectors - you can't split them.

You're working with a desktop PC, yes?

Besides the SATA HDD currently installed, how many other SATA-powered devices does the system contain? Presumably your optical drive, right? Any others?

Unless your PC is really ancient wouldn't your PSU contain at least three SATA power connectors?

Your certain your system does not contain sufficient SATA power connectors to accomodate two SATA HDDs?
