I have a sata to USB adapter that I'm trying to use to retrevie data from a failing hard drive. When I plug it into my working laptop, the multiple partitions show up and display capacity information. The largest of these lesser drives is 19gb. The main partition should be around 280 gb. The issue is that the main partition seems to feeze my computer whenever I click on it. It never gets to the point where files are viewable and it is forever processing. If I unplug the sata to USB, my computer will instantly unfreeze. I just don't know why every partition except the one I need is viewable and workable. I've tried to run chkdsk but it just hangs like every other process involving that particular drive letter (H
. Any ideas how I can get my data when I can't open the letter drive I need?
