I'm afraid that @USAFRet is right! It's definitely NOT recommended to tamper with your mechanical hard drive physically! This would probably do more harm than good! If you need data recovery assistance, you should consider contacting a professional data recovery company. Especially if your WD Green has failed physically. If it's damaged and you wish to fix it, doing these complex HDD operations by yourself is not advisable. There are too many things that could have been damaged inside the hard drive, so you are better off getting a replacement.
