I am currently running an ASUS M4A89GTD-Pro/USB3 motherboard w/AMD X6 1105t, 8GB DDR3 1333, and W7 Ult 64-bit.

I have 2x WD 150GB SATA1 10k RAID0 for OS and Apps and am wondering if it would be worth the money to upgrade to a 2x WD1500HLHX 150GB SATA3 10k RAID0 setup

Or, if a single WD4500HLHX would be better however I thought I read somewhere where a SATA1 RAID0 would give better performance than a single SATA3 HDD.

No, it's not worth it. You won't see a difference in performance since neither setup will saturate the SATA III port. In fact 2 SATA3 HDDs in RAID-0 will not even saturate a SATA II port.

Now, if you had 4 or more SATA1 HDDs and you bought 4 or more SATA3 HDDs, then you would see a performance difference.
